Written by Tracy Letts, "August" has garnered rave reviews that playwrights usually only dream about. The Waterfront Playhouse will kick off their 72nd Season with 'It Takes Two - An Evening of Duets'- a two night concert that will star over 25 of Key West's best performers. Auditions will be held Tuesday, May 31, 5 to 8 pm at the Waterfront Playhouse. Production dates for the show are scheduled for December 20, 2011 to January 14, 2012, with rehearsals beginning sometime early November.

The Waterfront Playhouse continues their smash 71st season with the Broadway hit, 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' opening Thursday, March 3 and running to March 26th. Nominated for 10 Tony Awards, this funny musical has a book by Jeffrey Lane and music and lyrics by David Yazbek. 'Theatrical pizzazz!' says The Daily News. 'Scoundrels' is directed by WFPH artistic director Danny Weathers, with musical direction by Michael Fauss and choregraphy by Penny Leto and Christine Marguerite, the same team responsible for such hits as 'Reefer Madness,' 'Urinetown' and last year's 'The Full Monty,' which sold-out every performance.

The Waterfront Playhouse begins their 71st season with the comic play 'Lend Me A Tenor' by Ken Ludwig. Directed by the Waterfront's artistic director Danny Weathers, 'Tenor' features an all-star cast; a breath-taking set by Michael Boyer; gorgeous period costumes by Jose Rivera and Carmen Rodriguez; lighting by Kim Hanson ('Key West Nutcracker') and a high-energy tale that will have you laughing. The production is sponsored by KEY TV and runs December 16 to January 8. The opening night post performance party is sponsored by Bunnie Smith and Jack Paul.

This gender-bending musical extravaganza will star over 30 of Key West's best performers. The show features guys doing numbers made famous by Broadway divas, and the gals reciprocating with songs made famous by Broadway dudes.

Directed by George Gugleotti, auditions will be held on Wednesday, November 3 at the Waterfront Playhouse, 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Anyone arriving before 7:00 will be seen. The play requires experienced actors who are comfortable with the verbal and emotional demands of Mamet's characters. The Waterfront Playhouse announces auditions for 'The New Century' by Paul Rudnick, which is part of their 2010/11 season. The auditions will be held on Thursday, October 14, 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the Waterfront Playhouse. Director Rich Simone will be looking for five experienced comedic actors between the ages of 20 to 60. The play requires actors who are comfortable with the verbal demands of the script, as well as fitting the specific types of the characters.
