In what promises to be one of the most thrilling theatre highlights of the year, the stage production of Damon Galgut's Booker Prize-winning novel, THE PROMISE, will have its world premiere in Cape Town this September.

The eighth annual 2018 Zabalaza Theatre Festival to showcase some 40 productions by dynamic young theatre-makers from all over the Western Cape.

The Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards were presented at a ceremony themed 'Live with Flair' at the Artscape Theatre Center last night, with the undisputed highlight of the night being the disruption of the ceremony by Mamela Nyamza, Chuma Sopotela, Buhlebezwe Siwani, and Zikhona Jacobs.

Artscape is set to present the much-awaited return of ITYALA LA MAWELE at the Artscape Theatre this October. Having recently been presented at the National Arts Festival, the production was presented with a Silver Standard Bank Ovation Award and was one of the bestselling shows at the Festival.

Originally commissioned by ABSA Aardklop Festival and first performed at the ABSA Aardklop Festival in October 2007, KAROO MOOSE will return to South African stages as a part of the 2016 National Arts Festival's showcase of work by its 2016 Featured Artist, Lara Foot. A season at the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town follows.

Unmute Dance Company in association with British Council Cape Town, Youngblood Arts and Culture Development and Artscape Theatre Centre presents the Unmute ArtsAbility Festival.

The second and final showcase that completes Artscape's Spring Drama Season is NDITHUNGILE SELANI written by DV Thom and adapted for the theatre by Thoko Ntshinga.
