Alberta Theatre Projects, celebrating 49 years this coming season, is airing the seventh and final reading of their 2021 Playwrights Projects on Friday May 28th 2021 over Zoom. The company is known for original plays and adaptations of Canadian works, pulling from artists all over the country. Alberta Theatre Projects is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Darcy Evans, Executive and Artistic Director. Evans died on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. Evans had been battling cancer since March, and he unfortunately lost this fight yesterday afternoon.

Carrie: The Musical to be Presented as Benefit for Actors' Fund Monday


Carrie: The Musical -  a one-night benefit concert will be performed in support of the Actors' Fund of Canada at St. Michael's College School Centre for the Arts in Toronto at 8 p.m. on Monday November 16th. Tickets are only $20. The event is being produced by Yes Theatre, Lili Connor, Alessandro Costantini, and Thomas Alderson.

The Toronto Star writes that the Canadian premiere of the Tony Award-winning KINKY BOOTS, which opened June 28 at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, has been extended through November 8, 2015. Tickets for the added six weeks of performances go on sale July 6.

American Broadway touring vet Alan Mingo Jr. stars as Lola - the role originated by Billy Porter in the Broadway production - in Toronto's KINKY BOOTS, while Graham Scott Fleming plays Charlie Price, the young man who inherits a shoe factory from his father, only to learn it isn't financially stable.
