Nylon Fusion Theatre Company features new plays including Migdalia Cruz's 'What if Under The Bed...?', Michael Panes' 'Reunion May 13th 3281' plays in March 13th and 14th.

Since classical times, artists have always had to reconcile the demands of their patrons with their own artistic integrity.  In the 21st century, the patrons' demands can come from both the left and right. 'Zen A.M.,' a new comedy by Natalie Menna, illustrates the conundrum, nesting it in present-day issues of class identification, compassion, cultural identity and creative resistance.  Theater for the New City will present the world premiere of the piece May 31 to June 16, directed by Andrew Block.

Duende Productions is thrilled to present their premiere show, Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT. Directed by Amy Hayes, the stripped down production will focus on storytelling and imagination by using only 8 actors and no set. The production runs April 4-21at Alchemical Studios

As part of the 2018 New York International Fringe Festival, Schondeikkan Productions, LLC, in association with The Journey Company, presents the world premiere of One Christmas Eve by Lynne Halliday, James Hindman, Arlene Hutton and Craig Pospisil, with music by Gretchen Cryer. The production will be directed by 5-time Daytime Emmy Award-winner ("All My Children" "As the World Turns") Chris Goutman.

Perhaps a playwright or poet discovers hidden beauty in the blackest of subject material---the places buried deep his dreams and heart. Tennessee Williams' 1953 play Camino Real appears to illustrate the darkest human emotions can be spoken in haunting poetic language to challenge the actors and audience alike.

A quaint, well-loved home is where the scene is set. Minimal set dressings to mask the beautiful awkwardness of the first scene - with remnants of Anton Chekov's greatest works scattered upon the mantle. A seagull, a sister, a cluster of cherry blossoms, and a brood of hens watch over the home from their perch. These little trinkets are entirely appropriate since three of the four title roles were named after Chekov's characters. Vanya, the brother in the play, blames the unfortunate circumstance of his unusual name on his having professors for parents.

A hint of a seasonal theme inspires Next Act Theatre's Heresy while adding a political twist on on the holiday spirit. A.R. Gurney's near apocalyptic play places Mary and Joe searching for their rebel son Chris in America's jails, now under protection by Homeland Security. Pontius, a leader with a rather droll wife Phyllis, tries to befriend Mary and Joe in finding their son who was arrested without cause. While the couple waits for news of their son, a military recorder named Mark, that just happens to be the name of one of the four gospel writers in the Bible, rattles off biblical phrases referring to the nativity and condemnation of Christ with equal aplomb.

In a classic comedy to end the 2013-2014 season, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre presents the popular farce 'Lend Me a Tenor.' C. Michael Wright directs the internationally produced Ken Ludwig play featuring actors hiding behind or running through closed doors while mistaken identities almost ruin a Cleveland Grand Opera fundraiser.
