The award winning novel of “To Kill a Mockingbird” is set in Maycomb, Alabama in 1935. When 8-year-old Scout Finch's father, lawyer Atticus Finch, mounts a vigorous and compelling case for the defense of Tom Robinson, a poor black man accused of an attack on a white girl, an idyllic world of childhood is changed forever. Through the trial and its aftermath comes a deeply moving story of freedom, justice, honesty, and hypocrisy, told with warmth and humor. The story is relevant and resonates today. Possum Point Players is supported, in part, by grants from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
