Thin Air Auditions Oct 16-17 (7-10:00 pm)

Open auditions will be held Wed Oct 16 and Thurs Oct 17 from 7-10pm in the Acting for Camera Studio at the Walgreen Drama Center on North Campus. You may come either day.

We’re looking to cast 5-6 actors for a project we’re calling Thin Air. The goal is to improvise a one-act play based on audience suggestions. There’s neither a script nor set characters and no two performances will ever be the same.

We’re looking for actors who are interested in creating characters and inventing dramatic situations in real time. The rehearsal process will be an intense collaborative exercise whereby we will learn how to work together to form a cohesive narrative. We will accomplish this through exercises, games, and repetition. We want to find actors who are interested in exploring truthful responses to a variety of situations – comedic and tragic. Don't worry if you've never done improv before or you think you're not “funny enough.”

You do not need to prepare anything in advance. During auditions, we will form groups and have you participate in various improv games. We ask that you plan to stay for at least an hour.

Rehearsals will start Nov 4. Performances are Nov 21-23.
