THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE, ABRIDGED - Oyster Mill Playhouse

Oyster Mill Playhouse in Camp Hill is holding auditions for the comedy, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged at 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 25 and Monday, January 26.

The cast will consist of three men ages 21 to 65. Those auditioning should be in good enough shape to run around on stage, occasionally screaming loudly. Knowledge of Shakespeare's works is helpful, but not at all necessary. Ability to perform an odd (or normal) talent on demand is a plus and you should be prepared to demonstrate it. Improvisational ability is a plus. Please bring a brief and current theatrical resume.

This outrageous comedy parodies the plays of William Shakespeare, with all of them being performed (in comically shortened or amalgamated form) by only three actors and sets The Bard on his ear. The fourth wall is nonexistent in the performance with the actors speaking directly to the audience during much of the play, and some scenes involve audience participation. As a result, each performance can be vastly different from another, even with the same cast. In other words, never the same show twice.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged is written by Jess Borgeson, Adam Long and Daniel Singer and is produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
