SATURDAY WARRIOR - SCERA Theatre Center for the Arts

SCERA announces Feb. 2-3 auditions for new stage adaption of “Saturday’s Warrior

The SCERA Center for the Arts announces auditions for the closing show of its 2015-2016 Indoor Season, a new stage adaption of “Saturday’s Warrior.” It will be directed and music directed by Jeremy Showgren, with choreography by Shawn Mortensen.

“Saturday’s Warrior” will play April 15 – May 7 on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays @ 7:30pm.

ABOUT THE SHOW: The LDS musical event by Doug Stewart and Lex de Azevedo is back, and it will be done like you’ve never seen before – but with all the humor, drama and music from the film and stage productions that have made it a cultural favorite! The musical opens in the pre-existence, where eight children — all assigned to be born on Earth as members of the Flinders family — discuss their life in mortality and make promises to support one another through life’s trials. Yet, on Earth, with promises forgotten, those family bonds are threatened, as Jimmy, the eldest, faces personal struggles that cause him to question who he is and his mission in life.

Auditions for “Saturday’s Warrior” will be held on Tuesday, February 2 or Wednesday, February 3 from 6:30-9:30pm in Room B1 at SCERA Center, 745 South State, Orem. Callbacks and dance auditions, for those invited, will be held Saturday, February 6.

Auditioners ages five through mature adults should prepare to sing 16 bars of a contemporary musical theatre piece. An accompanist will be provided, and is preferred, however IPOD hookup will also be available. No appointment is necessary to audition. A resume and headshot is helpful, but not required.

Rehearsals will begin February 11th. For more information, call (801) 225-ARTS or visit
www.scera.org under the Stage tab.
