NUNSENSE - Williamson County Performing Arts Center

The Williamson County Performing Arts Center, 112 Everbright Ave. Franklin, TN, will be holding auditions by appointment for Nunsense.

A zany, wholesome, hilarious musical revue presented by the Little Sisters of Hoboken, Nunsense is a heavenly delight!

Audition dates:

Saturday, January 8 - 1:00-3:00pm
Monday, January 10 - 5:30-7:00pm

ROLES

  • Sister Mary Regina (40s – 60s): Mother Superior, outrageous, quick-witted, knows how to get a laugh, tries to convince you that she is strict, but everyone knows that her “bark is worse than her bite.” Vocal part: Mezzo.
  • Sister Mary Hubert (40s – 60s): She is in charge of the novices, but fancies herself a Mother Superior & is in constant competition with Mary Regina. She exudes maternal wisdom to the novices but also likes to let loose. Vocal part: Mezzo, Gospel style.
  • Sister Robert Anne (30s – 50s): A tough streetwise nun who has a heart of gold, a jokester and constantly challenging authority, a constant source of aggravation for Mother Superior. Vocal part: Mezzo.
  • Sister Mary Amnesia (20s – 50s): The picture of innocence, lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head, can’t remember her past, and so she looks at each day with a childlike joy, has a puppet alter ego named Sister Mary Annette. Vocal part: Soprano, Broadway and Country style.
  • Sister Mary Leo (17 – 30s): The novice nun, a former professional dancer, always eager to display her talent, impressionable, entered the convent to become the first ballerina nun. She is easily swayed to join in the mischief. Vocal part: Mezzo.

AUDITION INFORMATION

For an audition appointment, please call 615-786-0186 ext. 2524 or email wcpactn@williamsoncounty-tn.gov Bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided. You may sing from the show. Tape recordings or unaccompanied singing are not permitted. Auditions may also consist of a cold reading from the script and dance.

Individuals of all ethnicities are encouraged to audition. Rehearsals begin February 28th. Performances: Friday April 1st at 7:00pm, Saturday April 2nd at 2:30 & 7:00p and Sunday, April 3rd at 2:30pm.

Actors will be paid a $500 stipend
