Lend Me A Tenor – Comedy Play – Opens February 12, 2016
Show Overview: Ken Ludwig's Lend Me A Tenor won 3 Tonys and 4 Drama Desk Awards and is considered one of the two great farces by a living writer. It opened in London in 1986 and in New York in 1989.
Set in 1934 New York city. Saunders is set to welcome Tito Merelli, the great Italian tenor for a one night show. He arrives late and with many mishaps, including a double dose of tranquilizers, he passes out and is presumed dead. To save the evening Saunders' assistant agrees to pose as Merelli. We also have Maggie, who is Max's girlfriend and Saunder's daughter. Then, of course there is a very jealous Maria Merelli. a wanna be starlet, Diana, Julia, the Chair of the Opera Guild which is hosting the evening, and the Bellhop who wants to become the next Tito Merelli.
Cast Needs: Lenore Weir will be directing this great adult cast ages 22 to 55 years old. Join us in this furiously fast paced comedy.

Rehearsals at Merrill Rivertown Campus (until move to Black Box Theater):
- Rehearsals begin on December 15, and will be scheduled weeknights from 6:30pm to 10pm.
- Rehearsals will be at Merrill Rivertown Campus until moving to the Black Box Theater on January 19.

- Plan to arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time, and prepare to stay 30 minutes past your time.
- Complete our audition form, which is available on the Audition Sign-up. Also attach an acting resume and headshot (or current photo) for the director's use (non-returnable).
- Include or attach a list of ALL conflicts during the rehearsal schedule.
- Actors are being called in groups of 3 every 15 minutes. Be prepared to do a cold-read audition in small groups
- People will be notified if they are being called back. NOT being called back does not mean you are not cast. Often times, only certain parts need callbacks. We will let all auditioners know the results via email no later than Sunday, December 13.
Volunteer Involvement:
As a volunteer-driven organization, we depend on cast to support crew needs. Each cast member (or member parent, spouse, sibling, friend, etc.) is expected to contribute at least 4 hours of time in helping to support the show by helping build/paint the set, sew costumes, make props, hang up posters, assist with lights and sound, help backstage, usher, house manage, help with refreshments and other tasks that arise.

- Tech & Dress Rehearsals and Performances are held at the Merrill Community Arts Center – Black Box Theater @ East Ridge High School, 4200 Pioneer Drive, Woodbury, MN 55129.
