CASTING STUDENT PERFORMERS AGES 7-21 IN HAIRSPRAY!!!

The Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) of Morristown, NJ is seeking STUDENT PERFORMERS AGES 7-21? for their 2nd annual FULLY PRODUCED YOUTH MUSICAL, HAIRSPRAY, in the beautiful 1300 seat MPAC theatre! Details can be found online at:

AUDITION DATES:

Thursday, January 30th ?

4:30-6:30pm – Ages 7-12 for children’s ensemble and Li’l Inez?

*After singing, some may be asked to stay and dance from 6-6:30pm?

Sign-up begins at 4pm

6:30-8:30pm – Ages 13-21 for principle roles and teen ensemble?

Sign-up begins at 6pm

Sunday, February 2nd ?

12-1:30pm – Ages 7-12 for children’s ensemble and Li’l Inez

?*After singing, some may be asked to stay and dance from 1-1:30pm

Sign-up begins at 11:30am

1:30-4:30pm – Ages 13-21 for principle roles and teen ensemble?

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR ?

For the principle roles and teen ensemble, we’re looking for talented and diverse student performers ages 13-21. Performers should be excellent singers, actors and dancers and be able to create fun, energetic characters. Full breakdown available at:

For the children’s ensemble and Li’l Inez, we’re seeking young performers with great voices, fun personalities, dance skills and onstage experience. The children’s ensemble will be featured in musical numbers so all will need to dance and take direction.

WHAT TO PREPARE?

For ages 13 – 21?

Please prepare 16 bars of a fun, uptempo musical theatre song that shows your vocal range and lots of personality! We’re looking for fun, energetic performers to bring the town of Baltimore to life! It is acceptable to sing from the Hairspray score. Please bring sheet music in the appropriate key, hole punched and in a binder for the accompanist - all lyrics must be memorized. If you do not have sheet music, you can purchase music online at

www.sheetmusicplus.com. Absolutely no accapella singing. ?*If you have an audition book, please bring it in case you’re asked for another selection.

Thursday, February 6th (After school hours -times TBD and scheduled as needed.)

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:

Monday evenings, Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons to start. (subject to change.)?All cast members must be available from May 23d-29th for tech rehearsals. Please note we will be rehearsing Memorial Day weekend.

Please use the 9 Pine Street entrance for all rehearsals
