Auditions for Enchanted April have been set for January 17& 18 7:00pm

Set in the 1920s, Enchanted April centers around four English women who rent a castle on a remote Italian island to try to come to grips with their lives and relationships. During their enchanted month in Tuscany, the ladies fall under the spell of their idyllic, sun-drenched surroundings. They rediscover laughter, learn new truths about themselves and find the romance they so long for, discovering unexpected passions and renewing their appreciation of life.

Performance Dates: April 15- May 7, 2016

Auditions will consist of cold reads from the script. Please be prepared to attempt your best English Accent (where appropriate), inability to do an accent will NOT disqualify anyone from casting as dialect tapes will be available to those cast.

ROLES: 3 Men, 5 Women

Lotty Wilton (early 30’s to early 40’s) An English housewife who is perpetually optimistic, but feeling trapped and lonely in a loveless marriage.

Rose Arnott (early 30’s to early 40’s) An English housewife who is quite reserved and shy and who is also feeling trapped and lonely in her marriage to a husband with whom she has become estranged.

Caroline Bramble (early 20’s to early 30’s) A young, beautiful socialite, tired of being judged only on her physical appearance.

Mrs. Graves (early 60’s and up) An elderly woman who avoids her loneliness and dissatisfaction in the present by dwelling on the past.

Mellersh Wilton (mid-30’s to early 50’s) Lotty’s husband - A self-important solicitor whose interest in his wife mainly resides in how she can help his career.

Frederick Arnott (mid-30’s to early 50’s) Rose’s husband - The author of slightly scandalous pulp novels. He loves his wife, but they have grown apart over his writing and tireless socializing.

Antony Wilding (mid-20’s to early 40’s) The owner of the Italian villa. He is a soft-spoken man whose vision is poor due to an injury suffered fighting in WWI.

Costanza (mid-30’s and up) The caretaker of the villa. Impatient and proud, she only speaks Italian.
