Dakshina/Daniel Phoenix Singh Dance Company is recruiting strong male (4) and female (2) dancers with solid background in modern and/or ballet and release technique for a
residency/performance season from April 16 to May 9, followed by an 18-month contract, part-time, for invited dancers.
Dancers must be able to live in Washington D.C. between April 16-May 9, and be prepared to move permanently if offered a contract. Apply ONLY if you are interested in the residency and the long-term contract (that would begin in June).
The Company performs a variety of works from works by Anna Sokolow to dances influenced by the Indian form Bharata Natyam. All performances and travel expenses are paid, and dancers receive a rehearsal stipend. The Company has several local, national, and international performance opportunities in the 2015-2016 season, along with a strong outreach program in area schools and community centers.
