The title of the 11th Annual Community Theatre Production will be to be announced at a later date.

Ticket proceeds benefit BTG PLAYS!, Berkshire Theatre Group's Year-Round Education Program. At the heart of BTG PLAYS! is a passionate commitment to bring live theatre and all its inherent excitement and creativity to children throughout our region. In addition, this is the first theatrical experience on a professional stage that many of these children will have the opportunity to participate in. We hope this experience will stimulate a life-long love of theatre and help produce the next generation of theatregoers, if not actors or other theatre professionals.

For the past 11 years, BTG's Annual Community Theatre Production has brought together children and adults who have learned from each other all in the midst of collaboration and creativity. Last year, over 6,000 patrons were in attendance for the 10th Annual Community Theatre production Mary Poppins, which featured over 120 talented children and adults from the community.

Berkshire Theatre Group's 11th Annual Children's Theatre Production will be directed by Travis G. Daly, with music direction by Mark Gionfriddo. BTG is looking for child and adult actors, musicians, backstage crew, technical support, usher staff and parent volunteers to participate in its upcoming community production. The roles and positions are open to members of the Berkshire community, third grade through adults.

Danny Dollar Millionaire Extraordinaire: The Lemonade Escapade, by Ty Jackson, adaptation by E. Gray Simons, III, will be directed by Travis G. Daly. BTG is looking for ten actors, 7th grade and up, to participate in its upcoming non-musical, touring production that focuses on an African American family. Danny Dollar is a kid with a plan. He is out to become a millionaire and conquer the world. Unfortunately for him, the neighborhood bullies have other plans for Danny, like public humiliation. But when the last person in the world he would have expected enters his life, something happens that he never could have imagined. Along the way in this fun story, Danny is teaching kids about finance, banking, investing and entrepreneurship.

The Colonial Theatre, founded in 1903, and Berkshire Theatre Festival, founded in 1928, are two of the oldest cultural organizations in the Berkshires. Having united in November of 2010 under the leadership of Artistic Director and CEO Kate Maguire, these two institutions are providing the Berkshires and beyond with the finest in live theatre, music, dance and the visual arts in Stockbridge, MA and Pittsfield, MA.
