ATTICREP ANNOUNCES 2014-2015 SEASON OPEN GENERAL AUDITIONS

ATTICREP is committed to creating immediate and intimate
performance-driven theater. We are looking for like-minded artists to join
us in our new home in the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. ATTICREP
is celebrating the past as we launch into the future in the Alvarez Family
Studio Theatre with a return of: God of Carnage, Who’s Afraid of Virginia
Woolf?, True West, and Irish Curse. The season ends with an original dance
theatre production From the Mahabharata. A collaboration with SOLI Chamber
Ensemble, Choreographer Kausi Subramaniam, and the San Antonio’s Indian
dance community. In addition, ATTICREP is assisting COSA (Chamber
Orchestra of San Antonio) in presenting a radio play with music for one
performance at Gallery Nord on May 31, 2014. Visit

Applicants will receive confirmation of audition time via email. A
headshot and resume will be collected at the audition. Callbacks will be
scheduled at a later date.

ELIZAVETA by Ronald Moore - Directed by Roberto Prestigiacomo.
Performance at 7:30 0n May 31st. It requires six rehearsals starting
Mid-May.

SERGEI Controversial dissident author; thirties then, sixties now.
CONSTANTINE His publisher; thirties then, sixties now.
ELIZAVETA His secretary; late forties, early fifties.
NINA His wife, concert pianist (mid-thirties).
LARISSA Elizaveta’s neighbor, niece of KGB Director.
KIRILL Lieutenant of the KGB.

WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? Written by Edward Albee.

NICK - Male - Late to mid-thirties. NICK has just become a new member of
the biology faculty at New Carthage University. Good-looking, Midwestern,
and clean-cut. He is married to Honey.

WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? runs in November 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19,
20, 21, 22, 23. Performances November 12th through November 23rd with
performances on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 2:30 PM
and 8 PM, And Sunday at 2:30 PM.


TRUE WEST Written by Sam Shepard. David Connelly Directs

SAUL KIMMER- (male) 25-35, a slick, cool, Hollywood movie producer come to
check on the progress of a script and enticed by a new offer.

TRUE WEST runs January 28, 29, 30, 31, February 1, 4, 5, 6 7, 8.
Performances on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 2:30 PM
and 8 PM, And Sunday at 2:30 PM.


THE IRISH CURSE, A Comedy about guys with a tiny problem by Martin Casella.
Roberto Prestigiacomo Directs.

RICK BALDWIN – (male) early 20s; a smart, optimist, fun-loving Staten
Island stud who's studying sports medicine at a local New York college;
the kind of guy who paints his face green, drinks a lot, and hangs with
his buds on St. Patrick's Day

KEIRAN RILEY – (male) late 20s, nice-looking, middle class guy from Queens
who works at a roofing company; exuberant, very nervous, and very sincere;
also really Irish and someone you'd want to be your best friend

THE IRISH CURSE runs March 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, April 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Performances on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 2:30 PM
and 8 PM, And Sunday at 2:30 PM.


FROM THE MAHABHARATA composed by the Maharishi Vyasan. Choreography by
Kausi Subramanian, Roberto Prestigiacomo directs.

We are looking for an ensemble of 30 actors and dancers of different ages
and performance/movement and ethnic backgrounds.

FROM THE MAHABHARATA runs June 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13 14.
Performances on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 2:30 PM
and 8 PM, And Sunday at 2:30 PM.
FROM THE MAHABARATHA takes an episode of The Mahabharata, the sacred
Sanskrit text, and translates it into a contemporary dance theatre
performance. This is a collaboration between AtticRep, the Indian
performing arts community living in San Antonio, Kausi Subramanian,
AnujuaSA, and SOLI Chamber Ensemble. A unique performance that will bring
together the creativity of the east and the west into a fusion of
tradition and contemporary performance.
