AfterWork Theater seeks a Musical Director for our Spring production of Anything Goes. This is a paid production and the fee is $2500. Rehearsals and performances will take place April 18, 2015 - June 28, 2015.

AfterWork Theater is a recreational theater program where everyday people can register to perform plays, musicals, and workshops in New York City. No audition required. Rehearsals are four times per week after work and on weekends, culminating in eight performances for family, friends, and more. We are proud to be launching our seventh season.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience musical directing, will be skilled at transposing music, will play the piano proficiently and be able to assemble and rehearse the band.
Most importantly, we are seeking someone personable, who loves friendship and community, and who sees opportunity in inspiring our participants to grow in ways they never thought possible. You must be able to command a large group of adults. Please be extremely detail-oriented.
The MD will attend all rehearsals and performances, conduct warm-ups, transpose music to meet the performers' abilities, and work collaboratively with the director to teach the music to the cast and creatively drive the musical aspects of the show.
The MD is also responsible for recruiting, scheduling, and managing all necessary band members, as well as playing in the band and conducting the show. We strive to produce high quality productions while also ensuring that everyone involved with our company is dedicated to the community, self-expression, and fun of the process.
