BPA Auditions for AMADEUS, A BPA Chamber Collaboration

Tuesday & Wednesday, December 8 & 9 @ 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.
at Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA)

Music, madness, and Mozart. Bainbridge Performing Arts is pleased to announce Auditions for AMADEUS, December 8 and 9 at BPA. Peter Schaffer’s Tony and Oscar award-winning story of passion, jealousy, and revenge comes to vivid life with the sublime music of Mozart performed live by a chamber group and choral ensemble.

AMADEUS is directed by
Kate Carruthers, with music direction by
Josh Anderson, music supervision by
Jon Brenner, and assistant music direction by
Elizabeth Faye. Run dates are March 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25 and 26, with a Pay-What-You-Can Preview March 10. Rehearsals are January 12 – March 9: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. plus Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Roles are available for 8 – 12 men, 5 – 12 women and a Choral Ensemble of 5 – 10 men and women, ages 18 and up. Audition requirements include preparation of a one-two-minute monologue. Choral Ensemble auditioners should prepare a short selection of music by J.S. Bach, early Beethoven, or Mozart. An accompanist will be provided. View a complete listing of characters online at

In the court of the Austrian Emperor Josef, Antonio Salieri is the established composer. Enter the greatest musical genius of all time: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Salieri has given himself to God so that he might realize his sole ambition to be a great composer. Mozart is a foul-mouthed, graceless oaf who has that which is beyond Salieri's envious grasp: Genius. AMADEUS is produced by special arrangement with
