A CHRISTMAS CAROL **Date Added** - Emergent Arts

Emergent Arts’ Christmas Carol Auditions

Ann Arbor- Local theatre company Emergent Arts will hold auditions November 6 & 7 at 7:30pm

for “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, adapted by Tim Henning. Location is the
Episcopal Church of The Incarnation at 3257 Lohr Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48108. This is a
dramatic comedy with choral numbers performed between scenes. Non-Equity. Cold reading
from the script. You may prepare a few bars a cappella of a Holiday song (any religion) if you
wish to be part of the chorus. More information can be found at www.emergentarts.com. Do
not contact the church. Production will be December 18-23 in the Arthur Miller Theatre in Ann
Arbor.

This adaptation is a heartfelt celebration of the original story with all the humor, warmth
and all-faiths spirit of the holiday seasons. A great opportunity for families to do something
memorable together!

“A Christmas Carol” has 30 roles played by 20-30 actors. We especially need young actors, male and
female, ages 10 and up, and also adult character types.

Major roles needed are:
Ebenezer Scrooge
Marley
Scrooge’s Nephew
Bob Cratchit, Mrs. Cratchit, and 5 Cratchit children ages 10 and up
Spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Future
Young Scrooge (age 10-20)
Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig and their three daughters
Old Joe, The Washerwoman, Mrs. Dilber, and The Undertaker
Jeffries, a comical servant (40s and up) who appears briefly in the original, here is a major character.
Also choral singers to sing seasonal songs between scenes.
