for A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL

Bainbridge Performing Arts is pleased to announce AUDITIONS for A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL, September 7 & 8 at BPA. Director Joanna Hardie is joined by Musical Director Elizabeth Faye and Choreographer Debbie Pierce to present this laugh-out-loud holiday tale of American Christmases past that has been cleverly re-wrapped as a new musical. “You’ll shoot your eye out!”

Run dates are December 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18, with a Pay-What-You-Can Preview December 1. Rehearsals are October 3 through November 30 – Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. plus Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Roles are available for 5-10 men, 2-10 women, and 8-12 youth for characters, ages 7 and older. A complete list of characters is available online.

Those auditioning are requested to prepare a one-two minute monologue and 32 bars of a contemporary musical theatre piece. An accompanist will be provided but those auditioning must bring sheet music – clearly marked and in a three-ring binder. Please - no outside accompanists or acapella singing. BPA AUDITIONS for A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL are Wednesday, September 7 and Thursday, September 8 at 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. for youth under age 14 and Wednesday, September 7 at 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. plus Thursday, September 8 at 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. Auditions are by appointment only, and interested parties are requested to email
dhadlock@bainbridgeperformingarts.org to schedule an audition.

BPA’s team of theatre professionals work with volunteer cast members from Bainbridge, Kitsap, Seattle, and beyond to produce professional-quality, vigorously-supported, and enthusiastically-attended shows in our 245-seat facility on Bainbridge Island. Bainbridge is a beautiful 35-minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle and the theater is a short walk from the dock. We do provide walk-on ferry passes for our Seattle cast members for all rehearsals and performances.

A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL is the December production in our 60th Anniversary Season. BPA produces six Mainstage shows a year, including a summer Shakespeare production at nearby Bloedel Reserve. BPA also houses The Edge Improv, Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, and BPA Theatre School.
