THE TAMING OF THE SHREW

Feb 12th - 20th 2011
MONDAY - SATURDAY 6PM
SUNDAY 2PM MATINEE ONLY
Mona Vale

Continuing the tradition of bringing Shakespeare alive and accessible in the open air, Top Dog Theatre returns with a fine evening of Shakespearean entertainment and comedy.

Set within a dream, several stories are told simultaneously with interconnected, layered plots and sub-plots.

Baptista Minola refuses to allow his youngest daughter to be courted until her older sister, Kate, is safely wed. The problem being, that Kate is sharp-tongued, ill-tempered and shrewish. Although she has a considerable dowry, no suitors come to call on Kate - until Petruchio arrives on the scene.

In a hilarious tale, witness how one man tackles a shrew and how, against all odds, Petruchio and Kate find each other.
