Skylight Music Theatre Hosts VIVE LA REVOLUTION Season Launch Party Tonight

Skylight Music Theatre announces Vive la Revolution, a season launch party hosted by Skylight young professionals group, SkylightENSEMBLE. The event will be held at Hot Water Wherehouse tonight, June 28th from 8:00pm to midnight.

Vive la Revolution will feature the sounds of DJ Why B, live dance performances from Aarabhi School of Dance and Salsabrosa Dance Company, food and beverage tastings from Chez Jacques, Cubanitas and Big Bay Brewing Company, free henna tattoos, drinks specials, a VIP section, and more. The entertainment and food will be themed to highlight Skylight's upcoming 2013-14 productions Fidelio, LES MISERABLES, and In the Heights.

Audience Development Manager, Emily Vitrano is thrilled to be developing new events for Skylight. "What is exciting about the launch is that it's the first of its kind in Skylight's history. We've hosted season announcement events before, but have never kicked off a season quite like this. The opportunity to partner with local businesses, especially in the Walker's Point Neighborhood, has been an added bonus. We're happy to be collaborating on a larger scale and building awareness for everyone involved."

Created in October 2012, SkylightENSEMBLE brings together young professionals through special events, volunteering, and musical theatre with the goal of engaging a new generation of theatre patrons and supporters. The season launch party is the first in a series of events ENSEMBLE will be offering surrounding the 2013-14 season and upcoming Skylight Productions Fidelio, In the Heights, and Hair.

"Our upcoming season is all about revolution; and not just our productions, we're revolutionizing the way we create a true conversation with our audience here at Skylight. This launch party is a great opportunity for new audiences to get to know Skylight, check out what's coming up and connect with us in a new way," says Viswa Subbaraman, incoming artistic director. "We're doing our best to shake up your Friday night, and I have to say, it's looking pretty entertaining!"
