ProArts, Inc. is proud to announce its upcoming season of family friendly shows at the new ProArts Playhouse in Kihei. The season includes a new fractured fairy tale-"The Emperor's New Clothes" (October 15-31) ; the beloved classic-"The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" (November 5-21); and the longest running musical ever-"The Fantasticks" (December 10-19 and January 7-16), featuring favorite tunes like "Try To Remember", "Soon It's Gonna Rain" and "I Can See It."

Critics rave for ProArts: "ProArts has a reputation for conjuring up silly, slightly skewed versions of children's classics...Every member of the family will find something to love! ...You'll be thoroughly entertained in Maui's newest performing arts space...Producers Jonathan Lehman and Doug Kendrick don't do anything halfway: they start with the very best team of professionals, and then bring the very best out of them...The production is a theatrical treat not often found in the local scene."

ProArts, Inc. previous productions include "Dames at Sea", "Urinetown", "Cabaret" , and, most recently "Sleeping Beauty" and "Cinderella" which opened their new venue in Kihei in the spring.  Kendrick and Lehman guarantee that once you've experienced ProArts on Maui, you'll return again and again.

The intimate ProArts Playhouse is located at the Azeka (Makai) Shopping Center, 1280 South Kihei Rd. in Kihei.  It's air conditioned with 80 reserved seats and padded floor seating for the keiki. There is free parking, plenty of dining opportunities nearby, and an art gallery with works by local artists inside.

Reserved seats go on sale on September 27.  Call 463-6520 for more information.
