BREAKDOWN

SYNOPSIS: The return engagement of the 2015 NY Times Critics' Pick musical comedy from Marshall Pailet (Triassic Parq) and A.D. Penedo (The Three Times She Knocked) about a support group for those who started the Iraq War. At times absurd, at other times devastating, the piece recounts the true story of a handful of mid-level spies whose foibles contributed to the worst intelligence blunder in modern history.

SEEKING:

Curveball
30s male of Middle Eastern descent. An Iraqi defector, and the only source on the biological Weapons of Mass Destruction. Enchanting, manipulative, unpredictable with a wild side. Middle Eastern accent. Legit Tenor or Baritone with full upper register (legit mix to Bb). Must rap.

Martin Bouchard
Late 40s-60s male. Used to be a bigwig intelligence guy, but has fallen several rungs in recent years. Knowledgable, but sometimes shortsighted and rash in his quest to reclaim past glory. Baritone. Any ethnicity. [CAST]

Richart Becker
20s male. A junior interrogator with the BND, Germany’s national intelligence agency. Young, ambitious, not as cool as he thinks. Looking for a friend. Tenor 1 (mix to high D). Any ethnicity. [CAST]

Tyler Nelson
40s male. CIA operative, bureaucrat and consummate company man. Reveres the rules. Holier than thou. Baritone (rock mix touches high C). Any ethnicity. [CAST]

Berry Stanton
late 20s female. Ambitious but reckless CIA analyst. Smart, abrasive, with minimal people skills. Mezzo-Soprano. Any ethnicity. [CAST]

Jerry Samuel
late 20s male. CIA analyst and super geek. Socially awkward with a strong moral code... for the most part. Tenor. Any ethnicity. [CAST]

Leader of the Support Group/Male Ensemble
20s-60s male. Facilitates support group session. Plays many other characters. Strong comedian. Tenor. Any ethnicity. [CAST]

Female Ensemble Member
20s-60s female. Plays many characters. Strong comedian. Soprano. Any ethnicity. [CAST]
