Season's Greetings by Alan Ayckbourn. Dir: Nora Hussey with Shelley Bolman. 1st reh: 12/14/11. Runs 1/5 – 1/29/12.
Clive:
AVAILABLE ROLE. Man, late 20s. The visiting writer. Has a shy, pleasant manner.
The following roles are cast. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements, should any become necessary.
Neville:
CAST. 30s. Easygoing. Uses hobbies to avoid domestic entanglement.
Belinda:
CAST. Early 30s. Attractive. Does her best to be cheerful, even though life has lost its luster just a bit.
Phyllis:
CAST. Neville’s sister. Has a drinking problem, but insists on cooking the holiday dinner, which is a cause for alarm early in the proceedings.
Bernard:
CAST. A doctor. Phyllis’s long-suffering husband. His amateur puppetry is a trial at every holiday...but he carries on.
Harvey:
CAST. 60s. Neville and Phyllis’s uncle. A bit short-tempered. Believes guns and weapons are excellent toys for children. Has a military air.
Patty:
CAST. About 30. Seven months pregnant with her fourth child. Married to Eddie, who has realized that family life can and often does squeeze the will to live right out of a man.
Rachel:
CAST. Belinda’s older sister, and definitely more on the anxious side. She is bringing home the only unknown to this gathering, and it is stressful for her and others.
AND A Nightingale Sang by C. P. Taylor. Dir: Nora Hussey. 1st reh: 5/3/12. Runs 5/24 – 6/24/12.
All roles have been cast. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible (emergency) replacements, should any become necessary.
Helen:
CAST. Early 30s. Wry and self-aware. Walks with a limp, which bothers her more than it should. The lynchpin of this mad family.
Joyce:
CAST. 22. Younger flighty sister.
Peggy (Mam):
CAST. Mother of the family. Religious zealot, given to flights of fancy regarding religious statues.
George:
CAST. Piano-playing, irreverent father of the brood. Hides behind his own versions of events.
Eric:
CAST. Young 20s. Soldier. Not the brightest crayon in the box.
Norman:
CAST. Thoughtful, sensitive and often charming…unfortunately, he is hiding a secret from Helen for part of the play.
Andy:
CAST. Quirky, cat-loving eccentric. Finds his way through the family dynamics.
