Seeking:
Roles #3, #4, #5, #6: The Ensemble: A group of 4 actors that Lisa has hired to be in the play. They are designated here as A, B, C, D, but should be referred to throughout the play by their actual names. As the “intended play” unravels and their “rehearsed” scenes are interrupted, we see that these “real people” have to grapple with the unexpected events onstage. As the play continues, we see their standard actor show-must-go-on ethic erode as they (like the audience start to find Ann a more compelling source of information, entertainment and warm human connection.
Role 3: A, woman, any ethnicity (age 30s - 40s) plays Joy, Dottie and herself
Role 4: B, black woman (age 30s -40s) play Lori Jones, Kay, Mrs. Price, Cynthia and herself
Role 5: C. black man (age 20s - 50s) plays Jim Richardson, Nurse 2, Little Oscar, Big Oscar and himself
Role 6: D, man, any ethnicity (age range 20s - 50s) plays Howard Norris, Head Nurse and himself
Seeking possible replacements only for Roles 1 and 2:
Role #1: Lisa Kron, New York performance artist writing a play NOT about herself.
Role #2: Ann Kron, Late 60s/early 70s, Midwestern housewife, lethargic and in pain, yet surprisingly vibrant. Warm and funny.

Triplet sisters are left in the forest by their woodcutter father. From this fairytale beginning, three resolutions are made – one sister will walk one way, one the other, and the third will stay right where she is. Twenty years later, having circumnavigated the globe, and fought Vikings, and crossed oceans, and tamed wilds, and achieved greatness, the three meet again, as women.
