First Rehearsal: Mar 19, 2018
Runs: April 18 – May 6, 2018
seeking:
ARLO: Twenties. Boyish good looks, but a sophisticated manner. A terrible romantic. Self educated. Something of a dandy. He has maintained an exuberance and optimism that could be called naive, if it weren’t so earnest. A storyteller. A young soul.
SUNSHINE (DITTY): Twenties. A beautiful fierce creature. Looks you square in the eyes. It is a joy to hear her laugh. She has navigated a violent environment by being something of a chameleon. Madame of the Gilded Lily Saloon. An old soul.
HARLAN: Twenties. A mountain sized man. Hardened both by his environment and his upbringing. Has lived off the land all of his life, often in solitude. A keen observer. A quiet strength. No stranger to violence, however, abhors violence. A lonely soul.
OWEN: Twenties. Comes from a long line of lawmen, and has fashioned himself in the image of the heroes of penny westerns. Easy in his skin, but a live-wire just below the surface. Quick with humor, and quick on the draw. A restless soul.
TOE: Fifties or older. Harlan’s father. A moonshiner. A degenerate. Twisted by poverty, he spitefully believes the world owes him something and will get his by whatever means is necessary.
LILY FAIR: Forties. A survivor. A mother and a prostitute. Has negotiated a history among violent men by becoming a shrewd manipulator. Fiercely loyal.
ATTICUS DYE: Fifties. Proprietor of the Gilded Lily Saloon and Dance Hall. A self made man. Confident and masculine. Intelligent enough to be truly cruel. He values loyalty above all. Ambition and the will to do what others won’t lifted him out of the poverty and depravity of his family’s name.
