LITTLE WOMEN – the Broadway musical
Book by Allan Knee
Music by Jason Howland
Lyrics by Mindi Dickstein
Directed by: Paige Price
Musical Director: David Dyer
Rehearsals: June 9th Previews: July 1st Opens: July 2nd Closes: Aug 16th

Based on Louisa May Alcott's own family experiences (and novel), this LITTLE WOMEN follows the adventures of Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March as they grow up facing the absence of their father as he serves in the Civil War. Even thought the musical's score is contemporary, the beloved story of the March sisters is timeless and explores the ongoing issues the girls face, like young love, hope, ambition and longing.

THE COTTAGE
By Sandy Rustin Fleischer
Directed by: Don Stephenson
Rehearses: June 30th Previews July 22, 23 Opens July 24 Closes Aug 15

The Cottage, inspired by the works of Noel Coward, is set in the idyllic English countryside in 1923. A tale of sex, betrayal and, oh yes, love, unfolds when Sylvia Van Kipness decides to expose her love affair to her husband and her lover’s wife. The true meanings of fate, identity and marriage are called into question as a surprising, hilarious web of secrets unravels in this ridiculous—and potentially murderous—romantic comedy.

Please prepare one to two minute comic monologue, appropriate to the period and using British accent(s).

SEEKING:
LOOKING FOR STRONG COMEDIC ACTORS WITH HEARTS OF GOLD AND SOLID ENGLISH ACCENTS. ALL ETHNICITIES ENCOURAGED TO AUDITION.

SYLVIA, (30s – early 40s) a lovely and rash romantic. Feminine, yet strong-willed, Sylvia’s attempts at true love leave her frustrated and ever hopeful for a shocking turn of events.

BEAU, (30s – early 40s) perhaps the best looking man in Britain. Logical to the point of pessimism. Beau is the type of fellow quite happy with the status quo, no matter what the status quo may be.

MARJORIE, (30s – early 40s) 8 months pregnant, pragmatic and a tad spicy. Unflappable in every sense of the word. Unless of course, she’s in labor.

CLARKE, (30s – early 40s) a distinguished gent with a lover’s spirit. Always aiming to please, Clarke’s kind-heartedness may lead others to take him for a fool.

DIEDRE, (20-30) an awfully pretty nincompoop. Gullible is Diedre’s middle name. She’s awfully sweet though, if you like that sort of thing. Surprisingly capable of unexpected clarity and insight.

RICHARD (30s) a murderous, yet gentle soul. Born to be half of a soul mated duo, Richard is hell bent on finding and keeping his true love. (No matter what).

SEEKING DIVERSE CASTS, PERFORMERS OF ALL ETHNIC AND
RACIAL BACKGROUNDS ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.
