BECKY'S NEW CAR - 7 ACTORS, 3 women, 4 men
Becky Foster - (CAST - Sandy Duncan) woman in her late 40s, both disheveled and dignified. Must be instantly likable, warm, inviting; and able to handle both broad and subtle comedy. Tour de force role, requiring actress of skill and depth. She is no bombshell, but something (Is it her eyes? It is her generosity of spirit? Is it her commitment to her dead-end work?) about Becky is beautiful.
Joe Foster - Becky's husband, a roofer, late 40s. Easy-going, thoughtful, understanding, loving in a low-key way. Deceptively simple, yet surprises everyone at the end of the play.
Chris Foster - (CAST - Jeffrey Correia) Becky and Joe's son, a psychology student, 26. Bright and slightly smart aleck-y because of it. "Obviously, the process of finding your soul mate can be greatly accelerated if she also happens to be really hot." Still lives with parents.
Walter Flood - a very wealthy businessman, widowed, 60s. Still grieving the loss of his wife, and still learning to cope, slightly 'adrift,' but also charming, maybe even dashing. Believing that she, too, has lost her spouse, becomes smitten with Becky upon their first meeting.
Kensington (Kenni) Flood - Walter's daughter, 23. Wants to meet someone who doesn't want her for her money and looking for more meaning than her money can provide.
Steve - Becky's co-worker, recently widowed, 50. High strung, emotional, and eccentric (he wears his hiking boots at all times), requires lots of attention and resentful that his co-workers seem to feel he should start to move on; he simply can't stop talking about his loss.
Ginger - Walter's neighbor, single, 50s. Heiress whose money has run out . Has "no tangible skills," but is smart, sophisticated with a pragmatic / unspoiled streak, and may be slightly manipulative.

ANNIE
Annie - (Age 11). Spunky, tough, street-wise kid. Sometimes aggressive. Independent, crafty, needy, motherly, friendly, caring. Will go to any extent to gain the love of a family to which she can belong. Strong vocally and strong actress. Mezzo-Soprano: A - high F .

Pepper - The toughest orphan. 12 years old
Molly - The littlest orphan. 6 years old

Kate - The next to littlest orphan. 7 years old

July - quietest orphan, 13

Oliver Warbucks - baritone 40-60, larger than life- titan of industry and wealth. Commanding presence, stoic with a big heart; strong baritone voice. Disconnected, lonely and guarded man transformed by Annie. Note: The actor playing this role must shave his head.
Warm-hearted, stiff-collared host to Annie for 2 weeks at Christmas. Baritone: C - high F
Grace Farrell - (25 to 35 in appearance). Faithful assistant to Warbucks. Elegant and warm. Soprano: A - high G
Rooster - Must appear 25-40, Miss Hannigan's no-good brother. Oozes insincerity and slickness.charming gangster type, excellent mover. Lyric baritone: B - high G
Lily St. Regis - Squeaky Soprano. 30 to 45 in appearance. Rooster's floozy girlfriend. Bold character actress, great dancer. Soprano: D - high G
