Breakdown

None of these roles are understudied at this time.

Maria - (70s) speaks English with a Polish accent, speaks some Polish.
A Holocaust survivor, still living in her native Poland, in modest surroundings. Vacillates between an earthy directness and a self-effacing coyness, an openness and a need to self-protect. A sense of humor, and a capacity for pleasure veils the deep secrets of her past.

David - (late 20s) American novelist who arrives in Poland with a bad case of writer’s block and a substance abuse problem. Self-absorbed, entitled behavior reveals a fear of connection.

Zenon - (50s) Polish-speaking, vodka-swilling taxi driver. A bear of a man with a sense of humor and a strong sense of right and wrong.
