Breakdown

Seeking:

Jerry Lukowski: 30s-40s; unemployed mill worker and former convict who definitely graduated from the School of Hard Knocks, but who still wants to do the best for his son; pop tenor to A (falsetto B)

Dave Bukatinsky: 30s-40s; Jerry’s best friend and sidekick, he carries around a few too many extra pounds (“fat bastard”) and is far too conscious of it; tenor/high baritone to G
Harold Nichols: 30s-50s; as Dave’s and Jerry’s former supervisor, Harold was strict and not well loved, but he might have hidden passions and talents; baritone

Malcolm MacGregor: 30s-40s; the night watchman at the plant, which is the perfect job for a man who has been coddled by his mother, is shy, and has few friends – possibly because he’s not being honest, even with himself; lyric pop tenor to A plus falsetto
Ethan Girard: 20s-30s; another unemployed mill worker, outgoing and excitable with an infectious enthusiasm – but not the strongest intellect; high baritone/second tenor

Buddy “Keno” Walsh: 20s-30s; “professional” male stripper in appearance and attitude, very much the performer; gay, but not necessarily effeminate; ensemble singing; stronger dancer/mover; may play other small roles

Teddy Slaughter: 30s-40s; live-in boyfriend of Jerry’s ex-wife and her (likely) future husband;comfortably well off, and not afraid to show it; ensemble singing; may play other small roles (no nudity required)

Tony Giordano; any age; hard-nosed Buffalo club owner; ensemble singing; may play other small roles (no nudity required)
Reg Willoughby: 30s-40s; yet another unemployed mill worker and the head of the union; ensemble singing; may play other small roles (no nudity required)

Marty: any age; you got it – another unemployed mill worker; ensemble singing; may play other small roles (no nudity required)
Nathan Lukowski: 12 but wise beyond his years; Jerry and Pam’s son; loves his father, but too often realizes that he has to play the role of adult to Jerry; ensemble singing whenever possible.

Georgie Bukatinsky: 30s; Dave’s wife; hard boiled and rough around the edges, but very committed –romantically, emotionally, and sexually – to her love for her husband; alto/mezzo belt to D

Vicki Nichols; 30s; Harold’s wife; loves to have a good time, but in a more refined way that involves nice clothes and travel – enjoys all the perks of her life without questioning them too hard; stronger dancer/mover; alto/mezzo belt to D

Pam Lukowski: 30s; Jerry’s ex-wife and Nathan’s mother; still cares enough for Jerry to want him to succeed and want him to be a good father, but practical enough to value and expect hard work; ensemble singing

Jeanette Burmeister: 50s-60s; an aging, hardened show business survivor who loves to tell her stories about it – and even brings her own piano in order to keep working; character alto with strong low F

Estelle Genovese: 20s-30s; Jerry’s occasional girlfriend/bed partner; ensemble singing (strong belt to E a plus); may play other small roles

Susan Hershey: any age; one of Georgie’s co-workers and friends; ensemble singing (strong belt to E a plus); may play other small roles

Joanie Lish: any age; one of Georgie’s co-workers and friends; ensemble singing (strong belt to E a plus); may play other small roles

PLEASE NOTE: THE ROLE OF NOAH “HORSE” SIMMONS HAS BEEN CAST.
