SEEKING

Equity actor for the role of FLORENCE and Equity actor/singer/pianist for the role of COSME. See breakdown.



PREPARATION

Actors will be given sides from the show to prepare for auditions upon confirmation of appointment. Those auditioning for Jenkins must prepare a song to sing from classical repertoire. Those auditioning for Cosme must prepare a classical piano piece. Bring picture and resume.

BREAKDOWN

Florence Foster Jenkins

40s-60s. Must sing. A wealthy society woman in 1930s-40s Manhattan. She believes herself to be a great soprano, though has no voice and is incapable of singing two notes in tune. Her belief in her talent and her dedication to music and the art of singing is absolute. Behaves at all times as if she is a major vocal artist.


Cosme McMoon

40s-60s. Accompanist to Florence Foster Jenkins. At the time of the play he is a dapper resident pianist at an elegant Greenwich Village supper club. Must play piano proficiently and be exceptional at reading music.
