Seeking
Equity actor/singer/musicians for various principal roles.

NOTE: A requirement is to play country instruments to a high professional level.

See breakdown for specific information as to which character plays which instrument.

Preparation
Prepare a brief song in the style of the show (can be country or pop country), ideally to sing and accompany yourself on your instrument. A piano and an amp will be provided.

Bring sheet music for your song; a piano accompanist will also be provided.

Bring a photo/resume stapled together.

NOTE: A requirement is to play country instruments to a high professional level. All the instrumental lineups can change, depending on the talent. The more instrumental skills the better. Character ages are flexible.

SEEKING:

JIM
Male, any ethnicity. Jim is the “host/spokesperson” for the band. Charming, likable and easy-going. A guy you’d be comfortable listening to all night. Co-owner and operator of the gas station and auto-shop. Excellent singer and rhythm guitar player. PRINCIPAL

JACKSON
Male, any ethnicity. A bit of a ladies man. Perhaps he has a bit of a wild streak. Employee of the gas station and auto-shop. Excellent player on guitar(s), multi-instrumentalist a plus – dobro, steel guitar, mandolin, etc. PRINCIPAL

L. M.
Male, any ethnicity. Unique, marches to his own drummer. Longtime friend and business partner of Jim. Suspicious of the attention he receives from ladies. Co-owner and operator of the gas station and auto-shop. Strong piano player, all styles. Strong vocal – lead and harmony. Also accordion and some percussion (hi-hat). Moves well, tap a plus. PRINCIPAL

EDDIE
Male, any ethnicity. Quiet, steady. Seen it all. Employee of the gas station and auto-shop. Bass, upright (bowed) and Fender. PRINCIPAL

RHETTA CUPP
Female, any ethnicity. Jim’s on again/off again partner and Prudie’s older sister. No-nonsense. Co-owner and operator of the Double Cupp diner. Very strong country-rock vocals. Percussion, and instrumentalist. – fiddle a big plus. Must move well and tap. PRINCIPAL

PRUDIE CUPP
Female, any ethnicity. Rhetta’s younger sister. A bit of a dreamer who longs to find a true romance. Co-owner and operator of the Double Cupp diner. Strong country singer. Good percussion and blues harp a big plus. Must move very well and tap. PRINCIPAL
