Prepare a brief song in the style of the season’s shows. Please have a contrasting song selection ready, if asked. Auditioning performers may sing from the shows. Please bring sheet music in your key. An accompanist will be provided.

This family-friendly musical will have audiences dancing in their seats. “Hairspray” follows plus-size teen Tracy Turnblad as she fights for her dream to dance on the Corny Collins Show and ends up revolutionizing 1960s Baltimore.

Porthouse Theatre was founded in 1971 and is the premier summer theater in the area. Set on the beautiful grounds of the Blossom Music Center, Porthouse offers audiences the finest in professional summer theater. The comfortable 500-seat, outdoor, covered pavilion theater is located next to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Cuyahoga Falls. Porthouse Theatre is a cultural service of Kent State University. Porthouse Theatre is a member of the Akron Area Arts Alliance. Porthouse Theatre's programs and activities are made possible in part by funding from the Ohio Arts Council.
