Runs: 7/5 – 7/10/16 seeking: MR. APPLEGATE male, 30s – 50s, any ethnicity. The ageless Devil in disguise. A slick salesman who is charming, extremely intelligent and wickedly funny. Has to successfully deliver a solo vaudeville turn. JOE HARDY male, 20s, any ethnicity. All-American, clean-cut, 22 year-old, home run-hitting hero of the Washington Senators. Handsome, earnest, athletic. Strong lyric baritone and good mover LOLA female, 20s – 40s, any ethnicity. Applegate’s seductive assistant. Superb actress and excellent dancer with a great belt voice. Must have humor, confidence, charm, and underneath it all, a soft spot in her heart for Joe Hardy GLORIA THORPE female, 20s – 40s, any ethnicity – Hard-boiled probing female reporter who works for the local paper. Sharp, “gal Friday” type, excellent belter and great dancer. MEG BOYD female, 40’s-50’s, Joe Boyd’s devoted, understanding, and faithful wife. Runs: 7/15 – 7/24/16 seeking SHREK Male, 20s – 40s; Any ethnicity; A big, gruff and grumpy ogre with a hero’s heart. Strong baritone/baritenor voice with significant stamina. Sings the majority of the show’s score through heavy makeup and prosthetics. Must be able to physically carry the weight of both the costume and the show. Strong honest actor with great comedic timing PRINCESS FIONA Female, 20s – 30s; Any ethnicity; A beautiful storybook princess with a secret. Strong, clear belt voice. Excellent actor with great comedic timing. Must be an excellent tap dancer DONKEY Male, 20s – 30s; Any ethnicity; The loud-mouthed, wise-cracking, hyper sidekick to Shrek. Must be comfortable with extensive physicality (running, jumping, sliding, etc.). Excellent comedic actor with a strong baritone R&B voice LORD FARQUAAD Male, 30s – 40s; Any ethnicity. An evil ruler with a Napoleon complex. Excellent comic actor. Must be physically able to do the entire show (including dancing and singing) on his knees. Powerful voice with a wide vocal range, including falsetto. Excellent comedic actor DRAGON Female, 20s-30s, African-American. Sings the featured song “Forever” in the style of Jennifer Holliday. High Belt RADAMES Male, to play Caucasian, Egyptian, mid 20s – mid 30s, Army Captain. A manly, handsome, dangerous warrior. Strong rock/pop tenor with a low B to Ab range. AMNERIS Female, to play Caucasian, Egyptian, mid 20s -early 30’s, charming yet materialistic princess. A dignified, noble leader who has a sense of mystery about her and is much smarter than she behaves. Must be funny, with good comic timing. Strong rock/pop sound with a high belt and a solid E flat. ZOSER Male, to play Caucasian, Egyptian, late 40s – late 50s, evil father of Radames. Elegant, cynical, urbane and treacherous. Strong rock voice up to a stustained B-flat NEHEBKAH Female, to play African-American, 20s-30s. Nubian slave and friend of Aida who speaks on behalf of the Nubian people. Rich chest-mezzo with a solid sustained D5, who sings “Dance of the Robe” and “The Gods Love Nubia”. (The actor who plays this role will also play Dragon in SHREK – July 7 rehearsal start date.) ------------- SOUTH PACIFIC Director: Linda Goodrich / Choreographer: Mark Esposito Music Director: Tom Helm 1st rehearsal: 7/28/16. Runs: 8/5 – 8/14/16 seeking: EMILE DE BECQUE Caucasian man, 40 - 55. Wealthy, cultured, dignified, attractive French plantation owner with grit and glamour. Falls in love with Nellie. Strong baritone NELLIE FORBUSH Caucasian woman, 25 - 35. Optimistic, simple Navy nurse from Little Rock, Arkansas. Falls in love with Emile. Must have great, subtle comic timing. Strong mezzo soprano LIEUTENANT JOE CABLE Caucasian man, 20 - 30. Young, formal and good-looking officer. Falls in love with Liat. Must be masculine and believable as a member of the Army. Soaring tenor (E3 to G4). LUTHER BILLIS Caucasian man, 30 - 45. Shlubby, mediocre entrepreneur, friend to all and a man with a lust for ladies. Very lovable character. Must be funny, masculine and believable as a member of the Army. Strong baritone. BLOODY MARY Female, Tonkinese, age 35 to 55. A shrewd souvenir dealer who is trying to find her daughter a rich husband. Brassy, sassy, charactery… any physical shape or size. Must have great subtle comic timing. Strong Mezzo voice. LIAT Female, Tonkinese, 18 - 25. Heartbreakingly delicate, beautiful and the picture of purity. Performer must move well.
