Richard - Lyle's best friend and business partner in Whozit. In his late 20s.

Avery - Tabitha's best friend and Richard's fiancé, in public relations. In her late 20s.

PETER AND THE STARCATCHER:
Black Stache - a notorious pirate, terrorizing the seven seas in search of a worthy adversary. Heartless, hirsute and suspiciously well read. Partial to the poetical and theatrical, which causes him to behave quite flamboyantly. Male. 30 -50.

Molly Aster - a young girl and Starcatcher apprentice who is taken aboard the Neverland as precious cargo. Curious and intelligent, she is only beginning to understand the confusing romantic longings that come with her age. She will risk anything for the sake of what is right. Female. 18 - 25.

Boy/Peter - a lonely and hardened orphan who doesn't miss much. Nameless, homeless and friendless at the beginning of the play and a hero by the end. He wants a home and a family more than anything, and dreams of a life of being free. Male. 18 - 25.

Grempkin - the schoolmaster of St. Norbert's Orphanage for Lost Boys. Mean and malodorous, he revels in keeping his boys in the dark and malnourished. Probable doubling. Male. 40 - 60.

Mrs. Bumbrake - Molly's nanny, a stereotypical British cad and outfitted with the duty of teaching Molly about womanhood. She still has enough charm in her age to attract a sailor or two. Probable doubling. Male. 40 - 60.

Bill Slank - the vicious orphaned captain of the Neverland. Does not possess the capacity to lead anyone but himself, which puts himself constantly in disaster. Greedy enough to send boys to their doom for the chance of gaining starstuff. Probable doubling. Male. 35 - 55.

Smee - Black Stache's first mate. He is single-mindedly dedicated to his captain's every whim. Male. 25 - 55.

Prentiss - an orphan, ambitious, hyper articulate and logical. He yearns to be leader, even when he knows in his heart that he'll never be one. A bit of a blowhard with a touch of cowardice. Male. 18 - 25.

Alf - a seafarer, an old sea dog proud of his tenure. His kind heart gives him an appeal to the feminine sensibility. Male. 50 - 65.

Lord Leonard Aster - Molly's father, a loyal subject to the Queen. The very model of a Victorian English gentleman, he is a faithful friend and a secret Starcatcher. Male. 40 - 60.

Captain Robert Falcon Scott - Lord Aster's old school friend, the capatain of the Wasp, Britain's fastest frigate. Lives with nautical bravura and heroic patriotism. Male. 35 - 45.

Ted - an orphan obsessed with food. A natural performer with easy wit and quite poetic language. Male. 18 - 25.

LORD ARTHUR SAVILE'S CRIME:
Baines - Lord Arthur's faithful butler. A sort of Jeeves to Arthur's Wooster. About 50.

Lord Arthur Savile - a gentleman. Engaged to Sybil. Young and pleasant but not overburdened with brains.

Sybil Merton - his fiancée. Young, lovely and charming.

The Dean of Paddington - his uncle. A spry old gentleman, of some absence of mind.

Lady Windermere - his aunt. A beautiful woman in the 40s.

Lady Clementina Beauchamp - his great-aunt. A delightful woman of about 60.

Lady Julia Merton - Sybil's mother. One feels instinctively that she is closely related to Lady Bracknell.

Mr. Podgers - a cheiromantist. A stout little man, with gold-rimmed spectacles.

Nellie - a young parlormaid.

Herr Winkelkopf - an anarchist. A voluble, excitable German of about 40.

THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY:
Francesca - a beautiful Italian woman, generous, luminous and funny, now married to a farmer and living in Iowa. Female. 35 - 45.

Richard Bud Johnson - Francesca's husband, an Iowa farmer, a good guy, diligent and dependable, but always exhausted and irritated that things haven't gone easier. Male. 40 - 50.

Marian - Robert Kincaid's former wife, a musician. Female. 35 - 45.

Chiara - Francesca's sister still living in Italy. Female. 35 - 45.

Michael - Francesca and Bud's son, to play 16. Male. 18+.

Carolyn - Francesca and Bud's daughter, to play 14. Female. 18+.
