PREPARATION
For Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek ---prepare a 2 minute monologue with South African accent.
For ROOMS---prepare a 2 minute monologue and 16 bars of a rock song. Accompanist provided.
Bring picture and resume.

Nukain: An old black man, a natural innocent, a farm labourer. South African accent.
Bokkie: A bright intelligent young black boy about 11 years old. South African accent.
Elmarie Kleynhans: (this role has been CAST) a farmers wife. Africaner. in the first act she is in her 40's, aging 20 years in the second act. South African accent.
Jonathan Sejake: the young Bokkie of the first act now mid-30s and educated returning to the farm full of energy and conviction. South African accent.

MONICA: Early 20's. Monica is a force of nature. She is passionate about becoming a rock star. She is street-smart and ambitious with boundless energy. Knows what she wants and goes for it. Fearless. Scottish accent. Big rock and roll numbers and also ballads. High belt with strong mix.
IAN: Early 20's. Ian tends to be a recluse, preferring his room and his guitar to interacting with the outside world. And then Monica enters his life. He is cocky, sarcastic and cynical on the surface, but inside he is extremely vulnerable. He is edgy, dark, and brooding, but very serious about his music. Ideally the actor will have some guitar skills but not required. Scottish accent. Tenor.
