BREAKDOWN

A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2
by Lucas Hnath -
Rehearses 10/01/19, previews 10/23/19, opens 10/26/19, closes 11/17/19
Director: TBD

NORA (40s). Estranged wife of Torvald, mother of three. Left her family 15 years ago after living out the ideal of the 19th-century wife. Intelligent and independent, she takes great pride in her success and autonomy.

TORVALD (40s – 50s). Estranged husband of Nora, father of three. On the surface, he is measured and reserved. He feels quite deeply but is unsure of how to express it.

ANNE MARIE (60s). Nanny who has raised Nora and Torvald’s children. Attempts to be the family peacekeeper but struggles with her fundamental disagreements of Nora’s choices. Sensible and caring with a quick wit and no-nonsense attitude.

EMMY (20s). Nora and Torvald’s daughter. Self-aware, well-adjusted, and confident in her world view.

HANDLE WITH CARE
by Jason Odell Williams -
Rehearses 11/12/19, previews 12/04/19, opens 12/07/19, closes 12/22/19
Director: TBD

AYELET (ai-EL-et) (30s). Israeli. Likable with a zest for life but has lost her smile. Wounded by a break up last year, but not quick to cry. Practical. Focused. Searching for more from life but afraid to admit it. Speaks Hebrew.

TERRENCE (30s). American, Virginia accent. Works as a delivery guy for DHX. Kind of a screw-up, but very well meaning. Not an idiot, just not worldly. A solid good-guy. Funny without meaning to be.

JOSH (30s). American, Jewish heritage, has an innate charming-shy-funny way about him. Tends to talk quickly, words tumbling out when he's nervous. Used to be an English Lit teacher at Virginia Tech, but quit after his wife died. Though wounded by his loss, he doesn't like to dwell on the emotion and never becomes overly weepy when talking about her.

EDNA (60s-70s). Israeli, Ayelet's grandmother. Loves life. Loves to smile. A ball of vitality, vigor, and energy; speaks Hebrew.

JEEVES SAVES THE DAY
adapted by Margaret Raether -
Rehearses 1/07/20, previews 1/29/20, opens 2/01/20, closes 2/23/20
Director: Angie Flynn-McIver

BERTIE WILBERFORCE WOOSTER (30s-40s). An affluent bachelor with a tendency to get himself into tricky situations. Simply has not grown up and has little understanding of the world around him. Self-centered but very likeable and harmless.

JEEVES (40s - 60s) Bertie's unflappable valet. Level headed. Always thinking 5 steps ahead. Long suffering but discreet and flawlessly mannered.

EGBERT (30s – 40s) Good old “Eggs and Bacon” is Bertie’s feckless cousin who shares the Wooster talent for disaster. Awkward and unlucky in love, society and finance. Sadly, Eggy is perennially hard up for funds, yet eternally optimistic. He’s the sort of chap who picks daisies by the tracks, never noticing the express train barreling down on him.

AUNT AGATHA (50s – 60s). A terrifying representative of the type of very opinionated English martriarch who can run an enourmous household, meddle in her nephew's life, and shoot partridges, probably all at the same the time. Impatient with what she sees as Bertie's spinelessness and unwillingness to settle down.

SIR RODERICK GLOSSUP (50s-60s) A celebrated nerve specialist, he is a fussy, humorless dyspeptic man. His daughter, Honoria, is (for the moment) engaged to marry Bertie. But Sir Roderick is highly dubious of the Wooster clan in general, and Bertie in particular

RED HOT MAISIE DAWSON (30s) The featured jazz singer in the floor show at a nearby resort hotel. Egbert is smitten. She is emphatically not. This does not discourage Eggy in the least. Somehow this evolves into a problem for Bertie. She considers Jeeves to be a perfect dream rabbit.

LIFESPAN OF A FACT
by Jeremy Kareken, David Murrell, Gordon Farrell - Rehearses 4/07/20, previews 4/29/20, opens 5/02/20, closes 5/24/20
Director: TBD

JIM (20s-30s) Fact checker. Earnest, well-intentioned and tireless. He does things to the letter of the law and is driven by rules, protocols, and facts. He has a confidence that he draws from knowledge and facts.

JOHN (40s – 50s). One of the world's greatest living essayists. Feels highly intelligent and often frustrated by lack of vision in others. Considers his work to be perfection and without need of editorial oversight. He doesn't suffer fools and values beauty and creativity above all else.

EMILY (50s). Editor-in-Chief for a high profile Manhattan magazine. Her great ambition is to achieve cultural relevance and commercial success. She's relentless in her professional pursuits, it’s all or nothing.
