Breakdown

GEORGE BAXTER (35) Conservative attorney, sixties’ man’s man, not good at exercising patience, does not suffer fools. Alec Baldwin. A baritone crooner (not too legit).

DOROTHY BAXTER (30) Engagingly neurotic, conflicted working mother. A younger, blonde Diane Keaton. Broadway belt with head voice.

BONKERS JOHNSON (45-55) Local celebrity and tv high-tech huckster. Charmingly gregarious with rapid fire speak. Not smarmy; a worthy love interest for Hazel. Non-singing role but it’s useful if the actor can carry a tune.

SERGEANT KREPPEL (55) Calm Air Force lifer; been there, done that. John Goodman by way of Bill Cosby. Rock voice.

==========
Note: EPA for the following children's roles will take place on Saturday, March 14, 10am to 2pm at Nola Studios, 250 West 54th Street, 11th Floor (see separate notice)

HAROLD BAXTER (8 years old) Underneath that all-American exterior lies a very imaginative, enthusiastic and intense obsessive-compulsive; a pitbull about any idea, project or suspicion and a natural leader. A factoid re outer space, and never removes space helmet. Matt Damon by way of Jesse Eisenberg. A very good singer with an unchanged voice.

SCOTTY FUYU – (8 years old) Nerdy, analytical; always measuring, assessing, making assumptions, connections, theories, about everything. Always wears slide rule on a lanyard. He is Harold’s genius side-kick, but is more shy and sensitive than him. Of Asian decent. An unchanged voice.

REUBEN STEUBEN – (9 years old) Spacey and philosophical loner; he ponders life’s mysteries, asking questions more to himself or the world, rarely talking directly to anyone in the room with him. The child of Christopher Walken and Steven Wright. Unchanged voice but can have some real character to it.
