BREAKDOWN
AMIR
40's - 50's. Handsome, proud, aggressive, type A, a typical leading man of the old school, except he happens to be Pakistani. A real anger that simmers.
EMILY
Emily: 30's to 40. Lovely in physical appearance and countenance, very intelligent, very loving and loyal to Amir. A Midwestern audience, prejudicial about women like this, should be surprised when very educated things come out of her.
ISAAC
30's - 40. Jewish, highly educated and well read and enjoys exhibiting it, wants Bernie but will vote for Hillary because he’s a pragmatist. Very New York, but it’s 72nd to 96th on the west side Jewish, not Woody Allen.
JORY
African American female. 30's - 40's. preferably a bit taller than the actor who plays Isaac, very successful and is comfortable wearing that. She has a very caustic sense of humor but knows when it should be exhibited with warmth. She and Isaac have a huge mutual admiration, but also a mutual tolerance of each other’s egos that is not quite as solid.
ABE
Amir’s cousin, early 20’s. Heart on his sleeve; vibrant and endearing.
