AMERICAN HERO by Bess Wohl

Sheri – 18, Awkward, soft spoken and weird. Doesn’t stand up straight, ever. Utterly exhausted.

Ted – 40ish. Relentlessly positive. A follower of rules. A true believer in the American Dream. Secretly in despair.

Jamie – Precast

Bob: 30s to 40s; New to America. Thick, unplaceable accent. Very anxious for unknown reasons.

Customer: A regular guy who wants a sandwich

Dancer Cindy/Trisha/Younger Cindy – Non-Caucasian immigrant, early 20s, a trained dancer; Cindy’s inner self

Omar’s Father/Omar in club/Younger Omar – Non-Caucasian immigrant, mid 20s to late 30s; moved his young family to the US and believes his son will be a great success
