SEEKING:

JAMES TYRONE
(Male, 42-52, Caucasian) He has been dissipated by alcohol and neglect but still has charm and magnetism. He conveys a sense of opportunity squandered and potential unfulfilled. Alcohol always gets in the way of his success. He is a drifter trying to set down roots. Must be a first rate actor able to really command the stage. Should be a formidable physical presence.

JOSIE HOGAN
(Female, 32-40, Caucasian) Tough, smart, and quick thinking. She shows her soft side with her brother, and her tough side with her father and Harder. However, for all that she is also capable of great compassion and love, as we see in her scenes with Tyrone. O’Neill describes her as an “oversized woman” and perhaps it is for this reason she invents a sexual past which she boasts about, but which is for the large part fictional. Josie is a product of Irish immigration and therefore has all the humor and resilience of the Irish, but also something of an inferior complex that holds her back. While she is tall and imposing there is nothing mannish about her. Josie is “all woman” and very feminine. In fact Tyrone often refers to her physical attributes. Must be very strong leading lady.
