Breakdown

Seeking the following:

Oberon
( also plays Theseus)- Rock Star/ Hip Hop Mogul like. This Icon is King of his world. Oberon, has a lot of swagger and can be a little vindictive. He and Titania have been warring over a changeling they both lay claim to. Theseus, a better warrior than a statesman, he is newly home from conquering lands and determined to enjoy the peace and his prize in Hippolyta. Male. Late 30’s-40’s.

Titania
(also plays Hippolyta): Queen bee of Queen Bees. She’s legendary fierce. Stunning but may not be beautiful. She can work a pair of stilettos. Titania is single minded, stubborn and more than a little feed up. She and Oberon have been warring over a little changeling boy whom they both lay claim to. Hippolyta, a warrior queen of a conquered land, is a foreigner in Athens but not above challenging Theseus. M/F to play female. 30’s-early 40’s.

Puck
Magnetic, egoic, charming and more than a little of a renegade this protégé of Oberaon’s has a lot of tricks up his sleeve, literally. Good looks and charm barely hide his devilishness. Actor will learn and perform magic tricks. Female/Male 20’s-30’s.

Hermia
Captain of the cheerleading squad or maybe the debate team, she’s usually in charge. Petite, Beautiful and can still get in your face. She decides to elope with Lysander after her father’s demand that she choose between Demetrius or death. Female 20’s.

Helena
Helena is a tall drink of water, Gorgeous but the last one to know it. Obsessive and talks way too much. In love with Demetrius who now loves her best friend Hermia, Helena tells Demetrius her best friends plan and follows him into the forest. Female 20’s.

Demetrius
He’s got a chip on his shoulder. Stubborn and uncompromising he is used to getting what he wants. He and Helena used to be a thing. But, favored by Egeus, now he’s pursuing Hermia, who is in love with Lysander. He’s athletic and may be on the short side. Male 20’s.

Lysander
Quick witted, purposeful and passionate, outdoor adventure is not his thing. He’s better with words and is all enthusiasm and not much practicality. In love with Hermia he hatches a plan to elope but doesn’t quite actually prepare properly as they soon find themselves lost in the woods. Male 20’s.

Bottom
Good hearted though with an elevated sense of self, he is the big fish (in the small pond of the rude mechanicals). Beloved of his fellows, ready for a good time he is best actor among them. In the play they are preparing for the Dukes wedding day, he would gladly play all the parts, instead he becomes the unlikely lover of the fairy queen, Titania. M/F 30’s-50’s.

Peter Quince
(also plays Egeus/ Philostrate) - a carpenter by trade but trying on his artist hat. The adapter and editor of a play to celebrate Theseus wedding, he’s in a bit over his head but determined to make a success of it. As Egeus, Hermia’s father, he’s furious at his daughter and petitions to the Duke to have her executed if she won’t consent to marry Demetrius. M /F 40-50’s.

Flute
The youngest of the Rude Mechanicals. Still smooth faced. Plays Thisbe in the play for the duke. Early M/F (To play male) 20’s.

Starveling
a Tailor. Thin. Timid. He worries a lot. Would rather not be on the stage in the play for the Duke in which he plays Moonshine. M/F 30’s-50’s.

Snout
Fixes odds and end, Pots and pans. Very literal minded. M/F 30’s – 40’s.

Snug
a little slower than the rest in thought and action but eager to please. 30s -40’s.

(all rude mech’s double as fairies)

SEEKING ACTORS OF ALL ETHNICITIES.
