Colorado Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker will return to the Ellie Caulkins Opera House this holiday season with 28 in-person performances.
The beloved holiday favorite returns in a dazzling production like no one’s ever seen, featuring new sets and costumes created especially for Colorado Ballet. A sellout every year, this magical tale of Clara, the Nutcracker and the Mouse King is going to be dreamier than ever.
Today, Colorado Ballet's Artistic Director Gil Boggs announced plans for returning to live, in-person performances at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House for the 2021/2022 season, which will include Giselle, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, The Wizard of Oz and Ballet MasterWorks.
Colorado Ballet announces that the company is launching a new fundraising initiative during this holiday season to virtually fill every seat in the Ellie Caulkins Opera House with a gift to support the organization during this challenging time in which they will not see any ticket sales revenue from The Nutcracker.
In 2019 Colorado Balleta??s Artistic Director Gil Boggs promoted Francisco Estevez to principal dancer, right before the company premiered Septime Webrea??s The Wizard of Oz. His promotion came after hard work, dedication to his artistry and battles with two forms of cancer. Despite the odds and challenges, he persevered and achieved great success.
Colorado Ballet announced today the cancellation of two productions in its 60th Anniversary Season, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. All 2020 performances of Colorado Ballet's beloved production of The Nutcracker are canceled, along with the 2021 production of Ballet MasterWorks. Giselle, originally slated to take place in October, will replace Ballet MasterWorks, moving all performances out of 2020.
Colorado Ballet Academy has received the Youth America Grand Prix Outstanding School Award for the second consecutive year in the Denver semi-finals competition that took place February 28 - March 1.
