When Robyn Flatt founded Dallas Children's Theater (DCT) in 1984, she envisioned a community of artists… actors, directors, designers, technicians and educators, all coming together to work toward the common goal of producing high quality theater. She wanted these artists to be able to flex their creative muscles, to be appreciated and to be nurtured. Over the past 37 years, that is exactly what has happened.
Dallas Children's Theater joins a groundbreaking collaboration of 37 Theatres for Young Audiences(TYA) across the United States, led by the lead producing team of Bay Area Children's Theatre, Seattle Children's Theatre, and Alliance Theatre in Atlanta.
Dallas Children's Theater (DCT) at the Rosewood Center for Family Arts was founded on a deep love of art and education. Today that cornerstone remains, even in challenging times.
When it comes to family-friendly, Broadway-like theater, Dallas is fortunate to have one of the top five theaters for children and families in the country in Dallas Children's Theater (DCT). That distinction will be centerstage as DCT's takes on Disney's tale as old as time Sunday, September 22 through October 27! Spirited Belle longs for adventure beyond her small, country town. But, does she get more than she bargained for when the Beast captures her father and she is forced to trade places to save him? In true DCT spectacle, this presentation will delight little prince and princesses everywhere.
In Dallas Children's Theater's (DCT) 2019-2020 season of amazing plays, the theme of kindness will vividly come to life in every production.
