According to Deadline, Warner Bros. Pictures has begun development of a new installment of THE FUGITIVE. According to the report, Christina Hodson is set to write the script with Arnold and Anne Kopelson returning to produce.

THE FUGITIVE began as a 1960s TV series which centered on Dr. Richard Kimble, a surgeon accused of murdering his wife. As he takes FLIGHT in order to clear his name.

The show aired for four successful seasons. In 1993 the property was turned into a highly acclaimed and successful feature film directed by Andrew Davis. Harrison Ford took on the role of Kimble, while Tommy Lee Jones received an Academy Award for his role as the U.S. marshal on the hunt for him.

It remains unclear whether the new project will be a sequel or a reboot of the franchise. No details were given as to whether Ford or Jones would reprise their roles for the new film.
