Rob Elmore has been named Vice President and News Director for ABC Owned Station KABC, Los Angeles, it was announced today by Cheryl Fair, President and General Manager of the station, to whom he will report.

Mr. Elmore was most recently the News Director at ABC Owned Station WTVD in Raleigh-Durham, N.C. He takes the position vacated by Ms. Fair, who was News Director of KABC before she was promoted to President and General Manager in February 2015.

"Rob is a consummate news professional whose passion and knowledge will be a huge asset to our station," said Ms. Fair. "His RELENTLESS focus on excellence, strategy, research and recruiting has helped build a first-rate news operation in Raleigh Durham that really serves the viewer. WTVD has made great strides in the digital and social media areas during Mr. Elmore's tenure. Traffic on WTVD's digital platforms is up 66% versus a year ago, and the station is No. 1 in social media engagement in the Raleigh-Durham market.

Before joining WTVD, Mr. Elmore served as News Director at WHEC-TV, Rochester, NY. He worked at the station from 1992-1998 and began as the Assistant News Director.
