Netflix recently announced that they will adapt Lemony Snicket's A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS to television alongside Paramount Television.

As readers of the book series eagerly await the show's premiere, one avid fan went a step further, posting a fake trailer for the new series to Youtube on Sunday. The video, which has already received more than 700,000 views, appears to take clips from the 2004 movie adaptation starring Jim Carrey.

A Netflix rep quickly released a statement to clarify that the video was not official or authorized. "This was not released from Netflix and not anything official," they commented.

The 13-book series tells the tale of orphaned children Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire at the hands of the villainous Count Olaf, as they face trials and tribulations, misfortunes and an evil UNCLE in search of their fortune, all in their quest to uncover the secret of their parents' death.
