On this week's episode of ONCE UPON A TIME, we learned more about the Snow Queen's younger years. It turns out Ingrid has much more in common with Elsa than we realized, for their childhoods were filled with fear of their powers and hurting those around them. After realizing she could never live a normal life with such strong powers, Ingrid decided to pay a visit to Rumpelstiltskin to see if he could help her find better control. But making deals with the Dark One rarely ends well, and this was no exception; Rumpel offered her a pair of gloves that would help conceal her powers (are we all getting the FROZEN reference?), along with the magical urn we've been hearing so much about this season. In exchange, Rumpel requests to have three ribbons that Ingrid and her two sisters, Helga and Gerta, have worn since they were children. The sisters comply, and leave Rumpel with their ribbons.

Some time later, the Duke of Weaselton came to visit the three sisters' home, for he was courting Helga. However, the Duke tried to make a pass at Ingrid, who used magic to throw him off of her as self-defense. Then Duke is both stunned and frightened by her magic, and causes enough commotion to bring Helga to the scene. Luckily, Helga believes Ingrid's side of the story. But when the Duke threatens to tell Ingrid's secret to all of Arendalle, Ingrid tries to zap him with her magic but accidentally hits Helga instead. Helga's heart is instantly frozen, and she dies quickly. When Gerta comes to see what has happened, she finds Ingrid hovering over Helga's frozen body and pieces together what has occurred. Now afraid of her sister's powers, Gerta traps Ingrid inside the urn. As the only remaining air to the Arendalle throne, Gerta decides it would be best for the people of Arendalle to forget all memories Ingrid, and instructs Granpapi to bend to her wishes.

In the present day, the Ingrid planted a trap for our heroes by waiting in the clocktower for her own capture, ensuring that she got some alone time with Emma. As sheriff, Emma interrogated the Snow Queen with the hopes of unravelling more of her plan. Unfortunately, Ingrid's cunning persuasion got the best of Emma; she managed to convince Emma that her family could never love her because they can not understand her powers, and therefore feared her. Emma grew incredibly angry at this, to the point where she unintentionally broke through a wall with magic. Ingrid used this incident as an opportunity to escape, and no one was able find her.

The episode closed with a scene between Ingrid and Rumpelstiltskin. It turns out Rumpel is itching to leave Storybrooke, but cannot do so because of his dagger. Ingrid insists she knows a way to lift the dagger's powers using the Sorcerer's Hat, and offers the information to Rumpel in exchange for her sisters' ribbons. Rumpel agrees to these terms, but Ingrid's secret is left unknown to us!

I'm a bit worried that Ingrid's next step is going to involve using the ribbons against Emma and Elsa. Rumpelstiltskin warned Ingrid that those ribbons held the power of love, and I'm speculating Ingrid will use the ribbons to hypnotize Emma and Elsa in some way. After all, the chances of Emma and Elsa complying with her plan willingly are pretty slim.

I'm starting to see why the Snow Queen chose Emma for her makeshift 'family'. Emma is starting to feel as outcasted by her magic as Ingrid does, and I feel like that was just a matter of time. But I still want to know how she heard of Emma's powers in the first place, especially since she was trapped inside the urn for many years. Side note: I'm waiting for baby Neil to have powers of his own.

We got to see a lot more of Regina and Robin this week, and boy, was it awesome! Despite Regina's multiple conversations with Robin about staying faithful to his wife, Robin has officially chose Regina over Marion. I'm really glad he came to that decision, because he obviously doesn't love Marion anymore. He finally realized that he couldn't force himself to love someone, especially when there was another person in the picture. Robin and Regina shippers rejoice!

Will the Snow Queen turn the citizens of Storybooke against one another? Will Robin and Regina's happy ending actually last? How will Rumpelstiltskin waive the powers of his dagger? Tune in to a special two-hour episode of ONCE UPON A TIME next Sunday at 8pm EST on ABC!
