Nat Geo WILD announced today the second season of popular digital series UNTAMED, premiering online in November 2017 across National Geographic's digital platforms. Join charismatic wildlife filmmaker Filipe DeAndrade and his two best friends as they venture to the biodiverse ecosystems of Costa Rica - a land of breathtaking landscapes, exotic species and pristine coastlines - to tell the stories of the local wildlife that are almost too beautiful to believe.

In its second season, Untamed will give audiences an immersive experience into the most unique and unimaginable wildlife stories that Costa Rica has to offer, through 10 episodes that will be driven by exclusive content across National Geographic's digital and social platforms. The focus on social media content this season will allow audiences to dive even deeper into the Untamed world. DeAndrade and friends will explore world-renowned phenomena, intricate details and extraordinary behaviors of some of Costa Rica's most iconic species, like jaguars, howler monkeys and fer-de-lance vipers.

"For season two of Untamed, we wanted a location that provided the highest density of wildlife behavior and animal ambassadors that would command viewers' attention," said DeAndrade. "Costa Rica is that location. This is a country where a deep appreciation for the natural world isn't a tourism gimmick, it's a way of life. The animals that inhabit Costa Rica are left to experience life the way they are meant to - wild and free. Our aim for this season is to encourage viewers to leave predictable behind and jump into a world where CURIOSITY inspires exploration."

Whether they are using cutting-edge technology to capture dramatic slow-motion footage of hummingbirds, or pulling all-nighters to capture the worldwide spectacle of thousands of synchronized olive ridley sea turtles storming the beaches to nest, the Untamed crew will continue to deliver fascinating stories of our planet's amazing species.

Production of season two of Untamed is currently underway. Fans can keep up with DeAndrade and his production partners McKenzie Barney and Brian Moghari as they explore Costa Rica through their Instagram accounts @filipe_deandrade and @thecomforttheory, as well as Nat Geo WILD's Instagram and Facebook accounts.
