Julia Roberts to Produce TAMING OF THE SHREW, a Workplace Comedy on ABC

As Deadline Hollywood reported earlier today, mega-movie star and Broadway vet, Julia Roberts, is set to produce TAMING OF THE SHREW, a workplace comedy for ABC - though not inspired by Shakespeare's classic play.

Roberts partnered with Elaine Goldsmith-Thompson, manager-producer of Roberts' Red Om Films, 3 Arts, to bring the project to fruition. ABC and 3 Arts are set to produce the half-hour comedy.

TAMING OF THE SHREW marks Roberts' first television endeavor, as well as Goldsmith-Thomas' since she joined 3 Arts in 2011. The two have worked together for 23 years, and have produced numerous AMERICAN GIRL films, including the theatrically released, KIT KITTREDGE: AN AMERICAN GIRL. Roberts is currently filming the film adaptation of AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, set to release next year, with Meryl Streep.
